Michelle Lamar

michelleprofilepicI have over 15 years of  marketing and media experience working with Fortune 500 clients.

In 2005, I founded Lamar Digital Group, to advise clients how to mix online marketing, social media and online content to traditional marketing plans.

I am fascinated by the web and social media. I’ve been obsessed with online marketing since 1993, when I went to my first internet marketing conference for Jiffy Lube. My work has been featured in two social media books in the last year.

I was a contributor to the book Age of Conversation 2: Why Don’t People Get it? This book features essays about social media and marketing from over 200 marketing professionals all over the world.

I contributed to the book Kirtsy Takes a Bow. More than 100 social media tastemakers lend their voices and visions to Kirtsy Takes a Bow in order to highlight the creative renaissance taking place online.

I’m a total geek who contributes to a number of blogs and websites.  I have a list of the blogs and websites where you can find me at the bottom of this page.

I’ve been featured in the Wall Street Journal, The Washington Post, NPR, Fox News, USA Today. I was featured in the December 2009 issue of Her Life magazine.

I started a personal blog in 2005 so I could find out more about how they worked.  Because my family has southern roots and I am a smart-aleck, I called my blog WhiteTrashMom.  It’s a popular parenting blog and is listed as one of the web’s best mom blogs on Alltop.com and Babble.com named it one of the Top 50 Mom Blogs.

St. Martin’s Press published a book based on the blog, The White Trash Mom Handbook in 2008.
